Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information that may pass through Langlade County Criminal History, the reasons it may be processed, and the limited settings in which another service may receive it. By continuing to use the website, you acknowledge these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider handles the query and its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

When you email us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It stays within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our systems may receive routine technical information when a page loads:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The referring site, when one is reported
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics services may use them to measure traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search to the provider that handles it
  • Maintain site availability and performance
  • Find and repair technical faults
  • Measure which resources visitors use
  • Present advertising that may reflect user interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Our content identifies routes to Langlade Sheriff Records, the Langlade Circuit Court, Wisconsin DOJ's Crime Information Bureau, and the Wisconsin Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and we are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies run the search tools embedded on some pages. Their privacy notices, retention rules, and sharing practices apply to information submitted through those tools. Review the provider's terms before sending a query because we do not control its processing.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Langlade County offices, Wisconsin agencies, court systems, legal resources, or commercial search services. Once you follow an external link, that destination's privacy policy governs. Check it before giving the destination personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their tracking is outside our direct control.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

  • Advertising networks that serve ads
  • Analytics providers that measure site use
  • Search providers that process submitted queries
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

We use reasonable security measures for data in our care. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or another breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that such data was supplied, we will take steps to remove it.

Your Data Rights

Rights can differ by residence and applicable law. Wisconsin public records and criminal-history dissemination are separately governed by the Wisconsin Public Records Law, Wis. Stat. §§19.31-19.39, and Wis. Stat. §165.82. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government record custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Object to certain processing
  • Request deletion where the law permits it
  • Ask that inaccurate data be corrected
  • Request access to personal information we hold

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. A new version takes effect when posted here, and the date below will be updated to reflect that change.

Effective date: August 11, 2026
