Langlade County Criminal History Checks
Start by deciding what the record must answer. A filed felony or misdemeanor belongs in Wisconsin Circuit Court Access, often called WCCA or CCAP. A police narrative comes from the agency that wrote it. Current county custody is checked with the Langlade County Jail or VINE. A statewide fingerprint-linked history comes from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau through WORCS. These products overlap, but none replaces the rest.
Use a full name and confirm the result with dates, case facts, and other lawful identifiers. Save the case or order number before leaving a portal. Then read the last charge disposition. A name match, an intake charge, and a conviction are three different things.
- Choose WCCA for a court case, WORCS for a Wisconsin CIB history, or the creating police agency for a report.
- Search WCCA by case number, or by last name, first name, and Langlade County.
- Compare the charge, case status, judgment, sentence, and financial entries before drawing a conclusion.
- Record the case number and ask the Clerk of Circuit Court for the filed document when the docket summary is not enough.
- Use the jail, VINE, DOC Locator, or BOP Locator only for the type of custody each one covers.
Two Langlade Criminal Record Buildings
Clermont Street holds two distinct parts of a Langlade County criminal record. The Sheriff, jail, dispatch, and Antigo Police share the Safety Building at 840 Clermont Street. Their files cover reports, jail intake, custody, and law-enforcement work. Across the street, the Clerk of Circuit Court at 800 Clermont Street keeps filed charges, docket events, judgments, and sentences. A short walk does not make these offices one custodian.
The official Langlade County directory shows the county offices readers may need. This view of the local government site helps separate county agencies before a request is sent.
Choosing the office that created the record saves time and avoids asking the clerk for a police report or the sheriff for a court judgment.

Official Background Checks in Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Online Record Check System is the public route to a Wisconsin CIB name check. An online query costs $7. Paper output adds $5. Registration is optional, though registered users retain request history for six months. An unregistered user should save the order reference number used to retrieve the result. WORCS is a state repository product, not a national file and not a copy of the Langlade court case.
A person reviewing their own national history can use the FBI Identity History Summary process. Fingerprints are required, and that process is subject access rather than an open name search for someone else. Wisconsin DOJ/CIB also processes fingerprint cards. The official channel and the reason for the check control which form and fingerprint route apply.
| WORCS control | Use | Key note |
|---|---|---|
| Submit Request | Starts a new name query | Public account is optional |
| Order Reference Number | Retrieves a prior result | Keep it after payment |
| Login and Password | Opens a registered account | Used for billing and history |
| Security acknowledgment | Confirms lawful access | Required before continuing |
Langlade Criminal Record Fingerprints
Langlade County Jail offers public fingerprinting on Sundays from 8 to 10 a.m. The fee is $20, and the person must bring the fingerprint card. Foster-care and adoption printing is waived. Court-ordered DNA, fingerprints, and photographs follow a different schedule and require photo identification, the criminal complaint, and the Langlade DNA Submission Form.
For a personal federal review, the FBI electronic identity history request explains the subject-only process.
The national result answers a different question from WORCS, WCCA, and a Langlade Sheriff report, so the records should not be treated as interchangeable.
Kinds of Criminal Records
Each stage creates its own record and custodian. The arresting agency describes the investigation. Jail staff document custody. The district attorney decides what charge to file. The clerk records the case and its outcome. Fingerprint-supported events may reach the Crime Information Bureau, while the Wisconsin Department of Corrections records state custody and community supervision.
- Incident or arrest report: the agency narrative and arrest facts, requested from the Sheriff, Antigo Police, or another creating agency.
- Booking record: county-jail intake and custody information, checked by phone, VINE, lobby inquiry, or request because no roster is published.
- Circuit case: charges, events, judgment, sentence, and financial entries held by the Langlade Clerk.
- CIB history: fingerprint-linked Wisconsin arrest cycles and reported dispositions available through WORCS.
- Supervision or registry record: selected public status held by Wisconsin DOC, not a full criminal history.
Langlade Criminal Charges and Diversion
The Langlade County District Attorney receives law-enforcement referrals and decides which state charge, if any, to file. The office handles felonies, misdemeanors, traffic and DNR matters, juvenile cases, and county civil traffic or ordinance work. Wisconsin felonies appear as CF cases and misdemeanors as CM cases in Circuit Court. A city call, a citation, an arrest, and a conviction are separate counts at separate points in that path.
The county's named Front-End Intervention and Treatment program adds a local diversion route for suitable matters. Its presence does not erase the need to read the filed docket and final outcome. Antigo Police reported 9,141 calls for service in 2024, including traffic stops, welfare checks, crashes, and many other tasks. Those calls are workload, not 9,141 crimes, arrests, defendants, or convictions.
Langlade Jail Custody Record Route
Langlade County publishes no jail roster, booking log, mugshot gallery, warrant portal, or sheriff app. For current custody, call the jail at 715-627-6444, ask at the lobby, use VINE, or make a records request. VINE can support custody and release notifications. It does not supply the full police narrative or the final court disposition.
The VINE custody service is one verified fallback linked by county and court sources.
A searcher should still confirm the court outcome through WCCA and the Clerk, because release status and guilt are not the same fact.
County meeting records add context without creating a live roster. Officials reported 75 people in custody in August 2024, 70 in May 2025, and 90 in September 2025. In November 2025, officials described a usual average of 70 to 80 and discussed long stays, medical needs, mental-health care, and substance-use treatment. These dated snapshots used different meeting dates and should not be joined into a trend or treated as annual crime totals.
The same public minutes describe practical changes around the jail, including space evaluation, radio and body-scanner work, a move toward Next Generation 911, parent visits, and a Three Bridges Recovery program contract. Such details explain why custody operations create records beyond a simple booking entry. They do not describe the guilt, charge, health, or release status of any named person. Keep each meeting date attached to its count or proposal, and do not infer a continuous trend. For a current answer, use the jail or VINE and then check the filed court case.
For a possible warrant, call Sheriff nonemergency dispatch at 715-627-6411 and review the public court events. WCCA is not a complete real-time warrant check. Eligible Sheriff or Antigo Police cash bonds are paid at the courthouse during clerk hours; after hours, payment shifts to the jail lobby.
Langlade County Criminal Records: What They Contain
A repository history is centered on a person, while a court file is centered on one case. A booking record is centered on a custody event. That difference explains why the same incident can show different fields and charges across Langlade County criminal records. The county does not publish a sample booking profile, so no exact public field list should be assumed.
| Name and identifiers | Names, aliases, and lawful identifying details used to match a person in a repository history. |
|---|---|
| Arrest and booking | Agency, arrest date, intake charge, custody, and bond information where recorded and releasable. |
| Charges and statutes | Alleged offenses, Wisconsin statute references, severity, and amendments shown in the case record. |
| Disposition | The outcome for each charge, such as conviction, dismissal, or acquittal. |
| Sentence | Court-ordered custody, probation, restitution, or other consequences after judgment. |
| Custody or supervision | Public status from jail, DOC Locator, WCCA, or another proper custodian. |

Langlade Arrest Reports and Dispositions
The Langlade Sheriff request form warns that its records are investigative only. The Clerk supplies the charge disposition. That sentence is vital: an officer's suspected arrest charge can change when the district attorney reviews the referral, and it can change again through amendment, plea, dismissal, trial, or judgment. The Langlade County court case file follows that distinct path.
Sheriff Records accepts a well-described request at 840 Clermont Street. Its current schedule lists a $4 accident report; an incident report at $4 for the first ten pages and $0.10 for each added page; photographs at $4 per disk; actual postage; search time where allowed; and necessary direct audiovisual redaction at $20 per hour. Cash and check or money order are accepted. The current web schedule controls when it conflicts with the older PDF.
| Record or service | Current published amount |
|---|---|
| Accident report | $4 |
| Incident report | $4 through ten pages; $0.10 each added page |
| Photographs | $4 per disk |
| Necessary audiovisual redaction | $20 per hour actual direct cost |
Wisconsin Public Access Laws
Wisconsin Public Records Law favors the fullest practical access, but access is not absolute. A request must describe the record with reasonable care and go to the custodian. The office may redact protected material or apply Wisconsin's balancing test. Juvenile files, victim and witness information, health records, sealed material, and an active investigation may receive different treatment.
Key Wisconsin laws:
Wis. Stat. §19.31 states the policy favoring public access.
Wis. Stat. §19.35 governs requests, sufficient descriptions, fees, and limits on demands for identity or purpose.
Wis. Stat. §19.36 identifies limits and protected records.
Wis. Stat. §19.37 provides enforcement, including mandamus.
Wis. Stat. §165.82 authorizes CIB record-check fees and channels.
A denial should state its reason and review path. The Sheriff's form notes review through mandamus or application to the district attorney or attorney general where the cited law applies.
Langlade Criminal Custody Record Layers
Use the Langlade jail for local pretrial custody. Use Wisconsin DOC Offender Locator after transfer to state prison or for public community-status information. State probation, parole, and extended supervision are run by DOC's Division of Community Corrections, not a county probation office. The Wisconsin Parole Commission handles discretionary release decisions for eligible older-law sentences.
Federal custody and cases require separate tools. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator covers federal prisoners.
That federal locator cannot confirm a booking at 840 Clermont Street or a Wisconsin DOC placement.
The Green Bay Division of the Eastern District of Wisconsin serves Langlade County. Its Jefferson Court Building page identifies the federal counter at 125 South Jefferson Street in Green Bay.
Federal dockets and documents are searched through PACER, while state cases stay in WCCA and Langlade Circuit Court.
Restricted, Sealed & Expunged Records
Juvenile and confidential cases are not ordinarily shown as public WCCA matters. Victim and citizen-witness names and addresses, juror identifiers, account data, and other protected details may be omitted or redacted. A missing online result does not prove why a record is absent. Older material may require the courthouse terminal or clerk counter.
Wisconsin expungement under Wis. Stat. §973.015 is narrow. Eligibility generally concerns an offense committed before age 25 with a maximum term of six years or less, subject to exclusions and successful sentence completion. Most important, the sentencing court must order expungement at sentencing. CR-266 is used after completion where that order already exists.
Expungement should not be read as an automatic purge of every agency trace. A person can review WCCA and their own CIB result, then contact the responsible custodian about an error. A motion to seal under §801.21 and forms GF-182 or GF-183 for mistaken identity, name, or address issues are separate remedies, not substitutes for criminal-case expungement.
Federal Cases Outside Langlade Records
PACER supplies federal dockets and filed documents after registration. A courthouse public terminal permits free viewing, though copy fees may apply. The official PACER access page is the correct starting point for a federal case.
A PACER result does not merge into WCCA merely because a person has ties to Langlade County. Search each court system for the jurisdiction that filed the case.
City-by-City Criminal Records in Langlade County
Wisconsin's 2025 official estimates identify only two incorporated places in Langlade County. Antigo has its own police records form, but it books through the county jail and sends filed state cases to Langlade Circuit Court. White Lake has no published village police portal or municipal court. Its verified route begins with the actual issuing agency, often the Sheriff, and then moves to the jail, WCCA, or the Clerk as needed.

Langlade Criminal Records Across Time
The 1905 Langlade County Courthouse is the county's second courthouse. The Wisconsin Historical Society describes its Neoclassical and Beaux Arts design by Frank W. Kinney and Menno S. Detweiler, with J. H. Jeffers as supervising architect. A 2000 addition followed. That same year, the modern Safety Building opened across Clermont Street, creating today's close but legally distinct record campus.
The Wisconsin Historical Society property record preserves an official view of the courthouse.
The old courthouse remains the home of the official case file, while a report or booking from the same event stays with the agency across the street.
